MOBILE, Ala--The Watson Neuroscience Foundation is pleased to be the provider of ImPACT concussion testing for five area high schools: Citronelle High School, Leflore High School, Alma Bryant High School, B C Rain High School, and Mattie T. Blount High School. Watson is also the concussion consultant for UMS-Wright Preparatory School. This is the fourth year Watson has provided concussion testing to local schools and their aspiring young athletes. On-field concussion testing is vital to keeping student athletes safe by preventing long-term damage.
ImPACT (Immediate Post-Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing) is the first, most-widely used, and most scientifically validated computerized concussion evaluation system. ImPACT was developed to provide useful information to assist qualified practitioners in making sound return to play decisions following concussions.
Watson Neuroscience Foundation is a non-profit regional neuroscience center, headquartered in Mobile, Alabama, and servicing the Gulf Coast and Southeast U.S. Region. The foundation has a four-fold purpose: support for brain tumor patients, funding for research, education outreach, and sports concussion testing in high school athletes.
